Back acne scarring is dreaded by many acne sufferers and it can be difficult to get rid of it. Bacne scars make people fell bad and consequently they usually have a poor self-image.

We can consider that about 95% of people with acne will have some scars. For most of them, acne scarring will luckily be a minor problem because scars will not be visible to others, but for some, it can become a devastating issue with a lot of suffering.

You should know that it is essential to treat your back acne in the first place, as it has been shown that acne scarring is more serious for those who have postponed the treatment of their acne by 3 or more years.

How effective they are will depend on the nature of your acne scars. You should know that satisfying results are not guaranteed but many people manage to successfully remove back acne scars. Here are a few tips on how to get rid of back acne scars.

When do back acne scars occur?

Among back acne causes, the main factor is an overproduction of skin cells. But as far as scars are concerned, the causes are very different.

Basically, back acne scars occur when pimples do not get treated on time, or when you manipulate and scratch your pimples.

Another form of acne scars is when very small white bumps appear on the back (usually on the upper back or upper arms) around the hair follicles; they are called follicular macular atrophy. This type of scars can last forever and might be very difficult to treat.

How to get rid of back acne scars

When you want to know how to get rid of your back acne scars, you should first realize that most products that are designed to treat back acne will not heal your scars. If your back acne treatment contains benzoyl peroxide, retin A, salicylic acid, or if you are treating your acne with Accutane or with back acne home remedies, for example, you will need another type of products and treatments to treat scars.

There are several types of treatments and remedies available to treat scars. They include filler substances, excision, surgery, dermabrasion, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser treatment, topicals for atrophic scars, products containing copper peptides, natural supplements, and keloid scar therapy.

How can you prevent back acne scars?

As the cause of scars is usually a lack of treatment of your acne in the first place, or a manipulation of your pimples or cysts, it is perfectly possible to prevent scars. The best thing to do is to never touch your blackheads, whiteheads or pimples. Do not pop nor squeeze them.

Then, make sure you have proper skin care hygiene and you treat your acne. For more information on how to treat back acne, check out this page: How To Get Rid Of Back Acne.
